The story of Chris Cleaner began long before the company existed — with a dream, courage, and the determination to never give up. Here is how it all happened, in Cristiane's own words.

A dream, courage and a one-way ticket
The story of Chris Cleaner began long before the company existed. It began with a dream, courage, and the determination to never give up. Twenty-two years ago, I left Brazil alongside my husband in search of a better life. I left behind my parents, my siblings, my career, and everything I had ever known. I arrived in Ireland without speaking English, without money, without connections, and without knowing the challenges that were ahead of me. All we had was hope and the desire to build a better future for our family and for our daughters, who years later would be born here in Ireland.

Cleaning to survive, English from a dictionary
Back in Brazil, I worked as a hairdresser and accountant. But in Ireland, I had to start from zero. Cleaning was the opportunity I found to survive and move forward. While cleaning houses, I taught myself English at home using a dictionary and children's movies. Many days I walked through rain, cold weather, and ice to get to work because I did not own a car. My first transport was a bicycle. Later, we managed to buy a small Micra — a car we still keep today as a reminder of where our journey began and everything we overcame.

Through hard work, honesty, and dedication, clients began to notice something special about our service: we were not only providing cleaning, we were providing care, trust, and genuine kindness. Slowly, our client base grew, my husband Marcelo joined me, and we realised this could become something much bigger.

Opening doors for other women
At the same time, I saw many other immigrant women facing the same struggles I once faced: not speaking English, having no transport, lacking opportunities, and often doubting themselves. That was when the true purpose of Chris Cleaner was born — to open doors for other women to rebuild their lives too.

Today, we are proud to have a team of 26 Brazilian women, serving more than 500 clients across Virginia, Cavan, Navan, and surrounding areas in homes, schools, offices, and restaurants. But even as we continue to grow, we have never forgotten what brought us here: humility, compassion, and respect for every person we meet.

At Chris Cleaner Services, we aim to offer high-quality cleaning services at fair and transparent prices. Our pricing is based on the number of hours, the type of cleaning required, and the size/condition of the property.

- Property size and condition

- Number of cleaners needed
- Travel distance/location
Based in Virginia / Cavan
Properties located further away may have a slightly higher base price to help cover additional fuel and travel time costs.
Before every booking, we provide each customer with a personalised quotation based on their specific cleaning needs and location, so there are no surprises 😊

Cancellation Policy
At Chris Cleaner Services, we understand that unexpected situations can happen and sometimes appointments may need to be changed or cancelled. We kindly ask all clients to provide as much notice as possible if they need to cancel or reschedule a booking.
Cancellation Notice
- We kindly request at least 24–48 hours notice for cancellations or changes to appointments.
- Late cancellations may result in a cancellation fee, especially if staff and travel arrangements have already been organised.
- If our cleaners are already travelling to the property or have arrived at the property, the scheduled hours may still be charged.
Regular Cleaning Clients
For regular weekly or fortnightly clients, we ask that cancellations are kept to a minimum, as your appointment time is reserved specifically for you.
Access to Property
If clients are unavailable at the time of the appointment, we kindly ask that arrangements are made in advance for property access (such as key arrangements) to avoid cancellation charges and lost working hours for staff.
Company Cancellations
In rare situations, Chris Cleaner Services may need to reschedule appointments due to emergencies, severe weather, staff illness, or transport issues. If this happens, we will always contact you as soon as possible and do our best to arrange a new appointment quickly.
